More details on The GINA Project here

> Global Interdependence Network for Action

You emailed. You called. You sent photos and video and even a few telegrams. You made it clear you ‘get’ Interdependence in such a compelling and real way and really - like no other generation can. You told us your stories. We listened.

Off the heels of the inaugural Global Interdependence Youth Summit where ideas were flying and new friendships forming, as well as through the overwhelming amount of applications filled with impressively thoughtful arguments and insight, you all made it clear that there was so much to do, so many things you could accomplish if only… and we couldn’t agree more.

And so 2009 will bring the launch of our new project the Global Interdependence Network for Action (The GINA Project). It will be a place for you to call home (feel free to move the furniture around, change the curtains and let us know if there are rooms to add, walls to paint or if just generally we should tear the roof off).
It will grow with you, as the more you put into it, the more we will all get out of it.

GINA will help you to meet likeminded souls, find new friends (and probably a few old) and connect with people in your local community as well as those in your global neighborhood. Organizations will be able to reach out to new members, as well as to similar organizations both near and far to figure out what works, what doesn’t and for those who are looking to start something new- you will be able to find support, guidance and in some cases, even funding.

A little further down the road we want to help you communicate with your local and national leaders and find the ways to get what is important to you at the top of the priority lists for policy makers and decision takers because its clear to us here that you all have some fantastic solutions to some of the world’s most pressing problems. While GIYS will always be our main annual event, we’re also planning for additional ways to get together, both within your own communities and internationally. We will also be seeking out those of you who are having trouble reaching the internet – for exclusion has no place in this home and wherever and whenever we can we’ll be looking to break down the barriers – including the gaping trench that has become our global digital divide.

We’ll update this area soon with ways to reach out and coordinate with our founding members and global youth steering committee. We’ll also let you know about when we will start to accept members for our beta test in 2009. In the meantime please be in touch if you have any questions, want more info or would just like to cheer us on (who can resist good cheer).
